Dr Vanessa is the immediate past president of ANZCA and is a specialist Anaesthetist in Tāmaki Makaurau. Her clinical interests include perioperative medicine and liver transplant anaesthesia. Prior to her role as ANZCA President she was the Director of Perioperative Services at Auckland City Hospital.

He is a practicing anaesthetist in Christchurch, with extensive experience in medical education, neuroanaesthesia, and obstetric anaesthesia.
